How it was made

One afternoon on Edgewood Avenue

The brief

Kerbside is a weekly street interview show. When I started, the edits ran long and viewers left in the first minute. The host wanted the same conversations, just tighter.

The edit

Every Monday I get around three and a half hours from two cameras and a phone. I cut the cold open first, keep the best answer inside the first thirty seconds, and lock the episode by Wednesday lunch so the thumbnail and short can go out with it.

What happened

Average view duration is up 41% since I took over the edit, and the channel has kept its Thursday slot for fifty weeks running.
