What I need from you on day one
A short list that saves a day on every project: the drives, a brief in one paragraph and the date it has to go out.
Most delays start before the first cut. Here is what I ask for on every project, and why.
The footage, all of it
Send everything, including the takes you think are bad. The best moment in a film is often the one before someone says action.
One paragraph
Who it is for, what they should feel, where it will be watched. If it takes more than a paragraph, we should talk first.
The real date
Not the hopeful one. I plan the week backwards from it, and it is the one thing I will not move.
