Grading three cameras that were never meant to match

Notes from Made Slow on matching a phone, a mirrorless and a cinema camera into one warm workshop look.

Tools on a workbench under a window

Pike & Plane filmed their own month in the shop on three cameras. None of them agreed on what white looked like.

Pick a hero camera

I matched everything to the camera that held the most shots, not the best one. Fewer shots move a long way that way.

Match skin, then wood

Skin first on the vectorscope, then the oak benches, which the owners would notice before anyone else.

Let one thing stay different

The phone shots kept a little more grain. Hiding it completely made them look wrong; keeping some made them look like memory.
